The ubiquitous availability of wired and wireless communication opens up new use cases almost everywhere. My current work in the field of communication networks mainly relates to the field of multi-path protocols. Especially for measuring, evaluating and improving multi-path protocols in wireless and vehicle networks. Here, multi-path protocols offer the advantage of combining multiple networks for throughput aggregation or seamless transfers between networks. Still, choosing the best network is a challenge, especially because the characteristics of the network paths in wireless and vehicle networks can change rapidly.
